hey guys ...i want to have my 85 blazer lifted....i'm thinking 3" or 4" as i already run 33s ....all i have near to me is a 4 Wheel parts and an Off Road Warehouse.....anyone use either of these companies for installation??...any pro or con's for either company ??....any estimates on how much i should be looking at cost wise ??(just a ballpark what to expect)...for both parts and labor ....thanks for the help

4 wheel parts is terrible, don't let them touch your truck (search 4 wheel parts on this board).

Parts are $400-1000.

You'll get nuked on labor charges for a lift (especially at a place like 4WP or ORW)...

If you're competent with tools, and have an impact wrench and a compressor, a lift is not tough. It should be fairly easy to find someone that's done it to give you a hand.

The last time I did one (it's been a couple years), I got my parts from www.jackit.com

You can usually find someone selling the parts used as well.

I'd go with a shackle flip from http://www.offroaddesign.com/ (~$200), front 4" springs (another $200 new), a raised steering arm ($50), brake lines (~$90), and shocks (~$150). One day to install yourself with a friend.

thanks for the replies guys ....i'd like to do it myself...but i don't really have the room and as for help ,i havent met anyone down here yet so i would pretty much be by myself ....I installed a Toyota lift ( front and rear 3" springs ) kit before by myself, but the Blazer parts are much bigger and heavier...LOL..i was contemplating doing it myself though,so i just may end up doing that .....I'm kind of nervous about the steering arm removal...LOL....I have floorjacks and all the tools ,but not air(but i think i may buy a larger compressor for running airtools)....and not sure how tough the rear shackle flip install would be ,will have to check more into that ....thanks again guys for the help

You can do it yourself, it'll just take longer. All you need is a driveway and some working weather.

I'm sure if you post on here as you go you'll get enough e-help to get it done.

Not much to add just some encouragement. There is a host of knowledge on this board. A lift is one of the easiest mods you can do. Adding a shackle flip complicates things a little.

I did my lift over the course of 2 days in July. I did the shackle flip and then front springs. It's not easy doing it alone, but it is possible.

Dealing with the fuel tank and skid plate was the hardest part for me.
