Looking for real world experience from people who have used a 4" EZ ride tuff country or the HD springs, on a suburban with a zero rate and how does it ride? My 6" pro comp springs are too stiff, then I did a 5.3L swap and pulled 130-145 pounds out of the nose of the truck in the swap, so I removed 2 leaves out of the spring pack, it's still too tall and too stiff. So looking to swap to something that is more tolerable in pothole filled chicago streets.

6" springs are rough; 4" springs aren't as rough but this is still leaf springs we are talking about. The EZ-rides are some of the nicer springs I have ridden on but like I said they are still leaf springs.

4" EZs are the best bang for your buck, my blazer had the HD package from the factory, add to that some blown out shocks and 20 year old cracked leafs, it rode like a wood wagon. I completely replaced all my suspension components and went with EZs up front, and some new "generic" HD leaf packs with a shackle flip in the rear, the front end floats like a cloud now that the EZs are broken in, however the rear end bounces like a pogo stick :doah:, but that may be a different case with your suburban since you probably have more wight in the rear. Word of caution; if you load up the front end with a heavy bumper and winch the EZs will start to sag.

ORD's greasable shackles would help smooth things out some as well.

I have the 4" TC ez rides with zero rates on my K10. It rides pretty resonably for an old lifted Chevy. Other people who have rode in it have said it's not that bad. It can flex ok too.

thanks, guess when my accounts pay me for this month I'll order up a set, I already run the DIY4x greaseable bolts in my shackle flip and will order another set for the front. Unless there's something else I'm missing that could also be changed up front?

i will add my 2 cents also. I added the 4" ez ride up front on my 91 suburban. i also shackle flipped the rear. the truck rides smoother now that the old worn out shocks and springs have been replaced. also, i added the ord poly bushings all around. this system is as good as you can get for a lifted leaf spring vehicle. as i said, my truck rides better now than with the old worn out factory parts.

They are really good springs. You should definately get a used set. :thumb:

I have a set of mystery front 4" springs with a zero rate - they ride pretty damn good. now that being said, i can only imagine that the some of the best springs in the game would ride better than the mystery set i picked up for $50 off a scrapped truck.

well bought a used set from blue85, so now I just need to order new u-bolts and bolts for my dana 60 along with some zero rates from diy4x and I can toss them on. Thinking of moving the axle 1" forward since I'm there. thoughts?
