I put the truck in 4Wheel, stepped on the gas, and it pulled to the right noticeably. Once it pulled for about 2 seconds, it stopped. It only happens under initial acceleration. It does not pull in 2Wheel drive.

I got out and had my wife step on go pedal hard and both front wheels spun a bit so both are locked in. I unlocked and relocked several times, went into 4hi and lo, still happens. Suggestions?

How long has it been doing it?

all your steering and suspension components good?

almost sounds like torque steer

are you trying it on dry pavement or loose ground??

It just started doing it...but I put a new locker in and just finished up some shock additions, I put towers in and new shocks. But the shocks shouldn't affect the steer.

All the steering and suspension is new and tight. Checked that yesterday.

It was on loose ground...slightly packed dirt.

I would think that with a locker it would not pull either way under torque..?? It is a Yukon on a D60.

Right front hub broken/stuck/otherwise not engaging? All the power is going to the left front wheel causing it to pull.

This is just a wild guess.

Mine pulls to the right, under load. fine otherwise, Ive just gotten used to it. Its a locked D60 btw.

Possible but I don't think so. I mean, when I step on the gas both front tires will spin when in the dirt. It doesn't keep doing it either. It only pulls for a few seconds then levels off to normal.

If I let go of the steering wheel, give it gas, it will pull the truck off the road before it straightens out and stops pulling.

If this is normal, great. I just want to make sure because I never noticed it before. I also have hydro assist, don't know if that has any bearing on the problem but...who knows.

Both tires spinning up dirt then.... no. Everythings working.

Start checking front leaf spring bushings, u-bolts, steering linkage/ends, etc.

Also check the rear leaf bushings and u-bolts. Or have someone watch while you nail it. If the rear end is going cockeyed it can make the front feel like it's pulling to one side.

I went out this morning and tightened up every nut, bolt, screw, etc under the Blazer front and back. Springs were checked again, all bushings are new with new bolts and look/feel good. Pitman arm, drag link, tie rod nuts are tight. Ball joints are all new and look good, no excessive movement and the joints are lubed. I checked to make sure my wheels were secure to the hubs and the hubs were tight. The axle has all new bearings and races throughout and all bearings that need packing are packed. The Yukon locker appears to be working normally and there is lots of gear oil in the diff. The hydro assist is working as designed and there is not any frothing in the power steering fluid.

When in 2Wheel drive the truck drives nice and straight under acceleration. When going 30mph I let go of the steering wheel and it kind of starts drifting to the right but at no point at any time does it exaggerate the motion. It could have been the curvature of the road that made it drift a little. The point being. It acts normally when in 2Wheel drive.

When in 4Wheel drive and upon initial acceleration the truck will immediately pull a hard right. The steering wheel will turn about 3/4 of a turn before it stops and kind of starts to straighten back up. I can hold it straight but it pulls relatively hard. While driving at 20mph in 4Wheel drive it has light consistant pull to the right. If I were to let go it would pull right until I let off the gas. If I give it gas while already in motion, it will pull right a little harder then ease up as I let off the gas.

So it is directly associated with 4Wheel drive and is greatly exagerated when hard on the throttle. Slight when easy on the throttle but still noticeable.

I am stumped and don't know what to check for next. It acts like the right front wheel is turning faster than the left at all times and more so under hard throttle. This is pissing me off right about now. ANY suggestions would be nice. I will break down and take it in for an alignment if I can't figure something out soon and I really don't want to give up and let it beat me. So....HELP! :)

Mine didnt pull before the locker, but did after. Just a characteristic of locked front is all.

I fixed the problem. For the most part.

The tie-rod ends on the old tie-rod were worn. I used the original rod off of the dually. They were overly loose. Since the old rod had the TRE permenantly affixed to the one end it was expensive to replace so I didn't. Bad move since the tie-rod was so old.

I bought the 1.5" rod from ORD and used thier TREs. This setup costs a little more than a full original replacement but is much easier to adjust TOE and is much stronger. Oh, and rather than welding the hydraulic attachment tabs to the rod itself, like I did on the old rod, I got a PSC clamp and welded my tabs to that. Works great.

I still feel a little pull but not even close to what it was. Now everything on that axle is brand new so the little pull there is must be normal as already stated earlier in the thread. It was hard to understand how hard it was pulling with the old TREs without feeling it. This I can handle. The old TRE pull was way to much.

Now to find out why my motor started burning copious amounts of oil.
