Does anyone know where to get a 40 gal fuel tank for a 1990 burb? I may be dropping the tank this weekend to replace the fuel pump, and if I do I may as well install the replacement tank.

If there is no rust on the tank and the inside is clean, no real need to change it, unless you have a 30 gallon tank. NAPA and LMC sells them, not sure on prices though.

I agree there really isn't any reason to replace it unless the tank is bad or you are upgrading to a 40. Any way they are $139.99 at LMC plus shiping.

My google foo sucks. I looked at lmc and couldn't find them. I currently have a 31 gal, so if I do end up dropping the tank, I want to upgrade to a 40 gal.

Would I need to replace the entire sending unit also? Or would the 31 gal unit one I have now work?
If it's the same as the newer stuff, it'll all be in one contained unit. But if not, you should change the sending unit to a 40 gallon model as that tank is deeper and your gauge won't read accurately.

Well crap,I guess I should have done a little more research first. I measured the tank after I pulled it out, and it's bigger than a 31Gal tank, yet a little smaller than the 40Gal tanks I have seen on line. I looked at the build sheet and it said it had a 37 Gal tank. Good thing I didn't order a new tank yet.
