350 with 400 crank = 383 btw. Both blocks have different bores. 4" vs. 4.125"

Actually, a standard bore 350 block with a 3.75" stroke crank (400 crank) is a 377, if you bore the 350 block .030" and add the 3.75" stroke crank THEN it becomes a 383. Also if you bore the 350 block .040" it becomes a 385 and once again if you bore it .060" it becomes a 388.
