Really want to put 44" tsl's on my 85 swb k10 this summer but was wondering what the ride is like with 44's and 15" of lift? How bad do the cops mess with you and how fast can you go with them on the highway? Thanks

to start with im hoping your K10 still doesnt have the stock axles if your gonna run 44's.

speed all depends on gearing and partly on how much power you have.

and do you plan on wheeling your truck?

hope you plan on spending some money on drivelines for your 15 inch lift

44s, 15" of lift, and how fast can you go? Pretty fast until you roll over:rolleyes:

How bad the cops mess with you depends on how many laws you are breaking.:(

Seems kind of pointless to run 44's on the street other than for show/ego. Personally I'd recommend a better dd and save the rig for off road at that point.

not to mention gas!! I'd love to lift my K5 more, but that would require bigger tires.. and i don't want to run any bigger then 37s, it's my every other day DD, lol. If you're running 44s the only time you should be on the street is if you don't have a trailor to get it to the woods.

Might include better brakes on this list too. If you are going to be driving "fast", stopping with 44's is a whole new experiance....

I havnt had any problem's. I am running 38.5 on the burban. I am getting like 5 mpg. I am running a tired 350 with over 200000 on it. I do 70 down the highway just make sure i have plenty of room to stop.

I reckon I'm lucky. :D Mine ride great once they've heated up. I'm running 5.13 gears with D60/14BFF and a TBI 350 and mpg isn't too awful bad. I'm guessing around 11-ish mpg. I have 4 wheel disk also so braking is awesome. I can go 70-75 on the interstate with no problems either. I drive my truck to work a couple times a week and pick my kids up from daycare 2 or 3 times a week as well. They love it.

I am going to upgrade the axles and brakes if I go to 44's so that is not a problem.I am not worried about that right now nor am I worried about gas mileage.I love my truck. This is my first big classic truck (had a s10 in the past) and I love riding above alot of people and hearing the dual flowmasters rumble but I want my truck to be bigger and badder.Right now the truck is running 32x12.50x15 and they are great on the road but the truck would look a heck of alot better on 44x18.5x15 tsl's.I drive the truck about 2 to 3 days week and usually travel anywhere from 10 to 90 miles total during that week that includes the highway which is goverend at 65mph I like to go 70 to 75 but would be ok if I could do 65 and not be scared or worried about the truck vibrating off the road.I have no idea how 44's ride on the road.I would be willing to drive and meet someone that has big tires on there truck so I could get an idea how the feel. Thanks

used to daily drive my rig with 39.5 tsl & 13" of lift with 4.88 gears, no problems going 70mph or faster. i would definently recomend upgraded brakes and a roll cage. dont remember my exact fuel milage but it wasnt too bad.

im running 39.5 tsl's on the street...well, it's my DD and offroad toy too. im running onetons(which you will HAVE TOO) and im running 4.56 gears, i get MPG in the double digits and it's very reliable. i can take it up to 70-75MPH...but i can hear the tread wearing down and costing me money...haha....isht is expensive no matter how you look at it. i just picked up some 40MTR's to swap on for DD duties, about 80percent of the time...but i do plan on going 44boggers when these 40tsls are done. im also reagearing to 5.13(atleast) possibly 5.38. oh yeah, i've got a TH400 also....3speed, so 5.38 will prolly kill me as far as DD will go.....we'll see though. good luck man. jumping from 32's to 44's is quite the jump.

oh yeah, once my tires get the flat spot out..they ride like butter...that's with 16oz of airsoft pellents in each. now if i could get my damn aligment right...haha

the ride will be bouncey how do you plan to get 15in anyway all you need is 12in those tires are heavy make sure you have good lugs and studs if your just rideing around 410s should be fine also make sure your brakes are up to date this pic is 12in lift 3 in body with42s
