Q jetWell 80' 427 I might have to use my 650 edelbrock on it till I can find a different carb if the 770 doesnt work out. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Look up the numbers on the block . That way you know more about what pistons MAY be in there. It might be a truck short block with passenger car heads.Alright so I got the motor opened up and the pistons dont look factory to me, somebody correct me if im wrong. I picked up a holley 750 dp and a edelbrock performer intake. Havent ordered a cam yet as I am unsure of what is in the motor currently. Looking at going with the summit k1301 at this time.

Is that a factory Power Steering pump bracket setup!? It look very similar to what I made for my BB...I couldn't find factory parts for mine when I put it together.
As long as the pistons are not domed , they should be fine, assuming you are wanting to run pump gas.The block is a 76 truck block and the heads are ls5's. Im just not sure about the pistons, most oem 454 pistons i see are just a dished piston.

You should make your carburetor choice before you buy an intake manifold.
John, which cam did you run in your 454 in the blue truck? Would it probably not be comparable due to these heads?
