454 engine mount tower brackets length ?

ok i have a pair of (2wd) '76 454 C20 engine towers that for some odd reason are roughly 1" shorter in overall length than any SBC ones i have around here, i havent ben able to measure the ones on the 74 454 truck yet, and stamping part numbers dont match between these towers and others. they look identical to any others, same style and all.

ppl say there is no difference between SBC ones and BBC ones, but thats gotta be impssible or i have a rare set of towers

does someone know whats the deal on this ?

2wd towers are lower than 4wd ones.

no i am talking about 2wd C20 454 ones compared to to any SBC 2wd ones, all 73-80


any ideas ?
