465 spline questions

My brother currently has a grenaded 465/208 in his truck now. We just picked up a 465/205 out of a 1986 1 ton dually. He was wanting to get away from having to have driveshafts re-done at the moment if possible, and pull the 205 and adaptor off and install his old 208 and its adaptor.

I didnt want to mess with pulling it apart if it wasnt gonna work though. So it should be a 32 spline 205 right?

Is it gonna be as easy as unbolting the 205 and throwing the 208 on there?

Yes, it will work since everything you mentioned should be 32 spline.

Measure both combo's before doing anything. I think they'll be the same length, as GM tried to make all the combo's the same length in the early 80's.
