I can wait. The engine is being put together still, had to pause the body work after my basement and garage flooded duing the IDA storm....im patient when it comes to the good stuff. The Brodix heads took 8 weeks+ to come

those heads STOCK exhaust port location or raised port ?

my friend had to rework his headers as they only offered stock port location but he had raised port heads . but this was in a vette .

so plan for this option if you do have raised port .

UPDATE

Block has been honed and being tanked this week.

Waiting for the Callie Crankshaft to come back from balancing. The tech doing the work is unbelievably backed up.

Just got my Promaster starter to I now have all the parts I need. Stainless hedders should be here soon ....

Hope to get pics of the block once it starts to be assembled.

FINALLY AN UPDATE ON THE ENGINE BUILD

After Covid ransacked the machinists garage (actually helped cause the death of the owner...very sad) and after it ran thru the shop that did the cylinder honing, we finally have progress.

The engine has been bored (0.06 over = 496ci), line honed, decked (3/1000th taken down) and tanked.

We got it painted today.

The crankshaft has been balanced along with the rest of the rotating assembly.

We are waiting on the main bearings (need special Chamfered bearings because of the forged shaft) and we need to measure for the pushrods and then it can all go together.

Good times ahead!!

On another note, I got a new (used) tub from a near rust free 1978 body outta California. Needs prep and paint but it is in amazing shape.

I also picked up "like new" leather back seats from a 2014 Tahoe (only $150) and I just got the back seat brackets from Merricks Garage. I also got the front seat brackets so I can use my used seats out of a junk yard BMW Coupe. Having the BMW seats reupholstered by a local shop. I went over board and am putting in Porsche Leather. The bolsters will be black and the centers will be deep red (Can Can Red). They will be back mid-January. I am sending my 1991 steering wheel out to have matching red/black leather stitched.

Lots of good times ahead.

Very cool!

I have never known of a shop who will replace the cover on a steering wheel. Would you tell us who?

I was referred to this guy from the upholsterer. They are gonna charge about $400 to hand stitch red and black leather on my 1991 steering wheel. The are also going to fix the upper portion of the steering wheel (i can kinda twist the current covering). They will refirb the center horn cover too. They will match the new leather seats. Attached a photo of another 1990 steering wheel he did. Mine is identical style

Nice update! Make sure they remove the paint running into the freeze plug holes before installation so it doesn't cause them to leak.

Looks nice!

Is that paint like the stuff on brake rotors that wears off as you use it ? Must be a new color option never seen orange before .
