I have the ally with a driver side drop 205 I did it myself and if u use the Dmax and ally with electrical its STUPID easy

I have a pass side drop. You think a DMax (or 6500opt) and an Ally would be better than a 6BT? I like my SM465 but man is it a pain sometimes.

Wow that's a nice K5. We have the same drivetrain. What flavor of NV4500 did you use? are you running a Chevy or Dodge clutch?
People look at me like I have a third eyeball when I tell them I get 24 MPG. I imagine you get the same response.

Almost all look at me like I am a damn no good liar or a lunatic when I say 25mpg. And I mean that seriously. I mostly just quit saying it except to those that are smart enough to understand.:dunno:

Wheels are now black and it looks much better.

I think you are missing the important aspect of this, yes a gas engine can produce the output, but it cannot get 20+ MPG in a 6k lb Blazer.

While those numbers may not look significant, they are much higher than the stock engines that came in our trucks. Those are also pretty baseline numbers, not what is possible with those 'little' 4bt engines.

The weight penalty of a D-max or 6bt is pretty significant when compared to the much lighter 4bt. Add in big block torque with 4 cylinder gas mileage and you have a real winner. The Allison trans is also a monster that kill ground clearance on a Blazer, they aren't designed for a trans that big.
