Easy, hard, what?

The tranny is slipping in my '98 Jimmy and I'm not having luck finding an used one in town so looking into rebuilding what I've got.

Any tips or anything about these to make it an easy chore and transition?

get yourself a vertical stand, it makes assembly easier as you have to line everything up when dropping the guts in. I have one from gm, but im sure you could make one easily. Other then that, there easier then the 700r4. Definately get an input seal for the transfercase as well if 4x4.

Not being a smartazz, how is it easier? I thought they were the same thing...?:dunno:

I'm not entirely sure myself about the internal differences but the E is fully electric so there might be a few less items to deal with or just easier stuff to deal with. :dunno:

exactly, 700r4 has a lot more to it, 4l60e is just simple compared, if your not messing with the valve body, it the same ****...
