Having my 4L60E rebuilt, thinking the stock torque converter might be a large contributor to why it's such a turd. Anyone used a trailblazer converter in a half ton? I hear it's an "upgrade" but hear mixed reviews.

How much do those run? Might be worth shopping for the aftermarket ones

Have one built to your specs. Will run you 300-400 bucks probably. It's not full race is it?

I would think a TB converer would stall higher because if the truck being heavier than a TB.

A friend of mine pretty much specializes in 4L60E's as a side job when he isnt rebuilding Eaton 18 speeds. Says a converter my cost is $100. I figure if that's the case try to use that to my benefit.

Yes.

It would fit, though the cost to make it work... not sure that fits.
How many other people be riding around with an m23 or a super m22 in their 06 pickup.
You would probably have the only one in the world.
Seems worth it.

Years ago Advanced Adapters sold an adapter to allow a Muncie 4 speed to go in a GM 4x4...I came very close to buying one for my '72 K5 after I was rather disgusted with the gear spacing of the SM465 I swapped into it in place of the original TH350...but it was over $700 back in the late 80's,too rich for my budget.
I learned to live with the big jump between the "second" first gear (not the granny low gear),and third, but I always hated it,especially on hills..you had to wind the piss out of it in second, then get it in third as fast as possible--and it'd lug up the hill ,spark knocking....the 3:08 gears in the rear weren't exactly ideal ..
