Low-Tech Redneck
OK guys the auto in my '96 is terminal...no hope for revival. I got my hands on a known good very low mile rebuilt 4l80-e for a heck of a deal. BUT........ there are some differences right off the hop that I need help figuring out how to deal with.
#1 - the shift linkage on the good one appears to be for mechanical linkage, and the one in the truck is cableshift. The attachment points are very different........can I change out the shifter shafts to correct?
#2 - there appears to be a different number of sensors on each. mine has one right on the shift shaft bolted to the side of the case. the other does not (Neutral safety?)
I really don't know what the other ones are anyways........can anyone guide me in the right direction. will I had to swap cases? or rob all the good guts out of the low miler and rebuild the one I've got? are the internals the same?
