4l80 to nv4500 swap

Wow, I never realized it was a non a/c truck. Surprising for 1991, I would have assumed by then a/c would be like p/s and p/b - pretty much non negotiable.
I thought the same.
I had a 91 single rear cc with the 350/4l80e/205 and it was manual windows, manual locks, rubber floor mats and a/c.
Didn't know they had non a/c.
It was rusted more than worth saving so I sold the engine trans tcase to new Mexico.
Can't remember his name now, a member here but I believe he still has it and would sell it.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have a 1991 V2500 GMC Suburban with the 350 and 4L80E. I had the trans rebuilt about 3 years ago now the bell housing earned a major crack. I would love to swap an NV4500 in.

One of the reasons your bell housing may have cracked is because your truck does not have all the transmission and transfer case bracing brackets. When I bought my 1991 V3500 it was missing the bracket that ran from the 205 transfer case to the bell housing (I bought one from imiceman44). It is typical of previous owners, and their mechanics, to be lazy, and not put these brackets back on because they think they do not matter.

I have the NP241. I am in the process of removing the transmission now. So far I see the transmission crossmember and a brace/skid plate under the transfer case.
