I am on my phone right now, but have gathered so much info on a swap that I could do a full write up.
However, I did not swap transmissions. The truck came with a 80, and had a 80 in it.
A 4l80e has 11 wires going to it. Some of the older ones, until93 I believe had a little different style plug and 12 wires. The 4l60e has 13 wires, but the same connector with two extra pins off to the side. What happened was one of the PO's replaced the pigtail off the factory harness with a pigtail from a 4l60e. *Note in one of my earlier posts I mentioned two extra wires* And it would have worked, if I traced all the wires back to the tcm and found the correct wires. However, a 11 pin 4l80e external wiring harness repair kit was 32$.
Ah, so why was it working OK for a while and then acting up later? If you swapped just the plug and followed color-code, you should get all 11 signals correct. So where were the extra wires going?

I found SO many of those color coded things it made my head spin. Want to know what i noticed? Almost all of them had a different color code...
I dont know why it shifted before. The "1 mile" might have been off... I think i only had a 1-2. I dont know man. But my truck definitely had 2 solid pinks and 2 yellow with black stripes.
