Anyone with a 4L80E in there K5 use the stock 4L80E dip stick and tube?

The reason I ask is because I am unable to get it in even tried to lower the trans.

Does anyone have a part number for one that will work or do i need to get a Lokar flexible one.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I have GM Tube#15832205 and Stick #15183801

i run a g-series van tube and stick . few tweeks and it clears fine . thats only cause it was few for van fire wall .

and some tubes almost need the trans dropped a few inches to get them to go in . this is why i try and install them as i am lifting the trans up to the engine . and tilting the trans back will tend to make it worse .

yes, I just tried to tilt the trans a little, just made it worse, really don't want to remove the trans though, just put it in yesterday.

In my 87 K5 with 454 and 4L80e. It's not as long as the original but works for me.

I believe the original tube comes up above the distributor and forward a little. The one that came with this 4L80E had a crack in it at the bottom so I bought the new one off ebay. It is just under the distributor wires on the 454.

I got mine in. It sucked ass. Had to cut off the mounting bracket. Involved lots of curse words and a couple bloody knuckles.

Tried all kinds of ways to get the 1995 K2500 tube to fit in my '86 when the trans went in...no way, no how was it going to come anywhere even remotely close to fitting, due to interference with the firewall. Ended up buying a new tube from the dealer for a '91 C/K30 truck. '95 dipstick fit fine in the '91 tube, and I verified that it does sit at the correct level in the trans too.

I can find that tube... But not the dipstick that goes in it for some reason :dunno:. You'd think they'd be sold as a pair.

Odd...it was the exact opposite for me 2 years ago...dipsticks were everywhere, yet according to the dealer I got the absolute last tube available in the entire country. Of course, the dealer guy could have been lying, and I have no way of knowing either way. But I searched for a while trying to find the tube before finally saying heck with it, nothing to lose by checking with a dealer. When he said there was only 1 left, I couldn't get a credit card out fast enough, and completely forgot to tell him to include a stick in the order too, lol.

By the time I finally got around to getting the new tube in a few months later, I had completely forgotten about getting a new stick too, and figured the '95 stick was better than nothing...then was pleasantly surprised to find it worked fine, though I really do need to replace it as the o-rings at the top really don't seal anymore.

95 stick works in the 91 tube?
Maybe I can find one of them...?

Where or how do you remark the line?

I didn't remark anything. I just dropped the pan, shoved the stick in, and compared the full mark to the pan lip - dead on. Unless someone changed the stick to a '91 stick in the donor Suburban before I got it....
