Ok -- I just had my 700R4 rebuilt for the second time. The guy did a really good job and I'm happy with it, but it'll probably only last a year or two. I have the 6.2 with a Banks power package, 40's, 14 bolt rear with a detroit and the 10 bolt front with a Tru-Trac. I was given an old 91 3/4 ton Sub. that turned out to have the 4L80E. Is this tranny truly that much better than the 700R4? If so, why and how? Should I rebuild it to have on hand when my 700R4 throws in the towel again?
I have an 85 Sub 4x4, so I'd have to rig up a computer somehow....
