My 1992 K2500 Sierra has a significant delay from the time you pull the floor shifter into 4H from 2H until the solenoid actually engages the front differential. I realize this is nothing new to probably all of you. My question is: does anyone know of a way to engage 4wd quicker?
TIA, Jeff

You should find out if your truck has the thermal actuator. I believe that they were used through 1995, but I am not positive. Those are not great. GM switched to a solenoid later, but from what I remember, you have to buy an adapter wiring harness with it for retrofit.

I installed a Posi-lock in my old '95. It took a little bit of playing around to get it engaged at slow speed or stopped, but it let me have 2wd low range too. I could also just lock it in without engaging the T-case if I knew that I was going to need 4wd on and off.
