Didn't know they were collectible, I threw big boxes of them away (I'm lumping 4W&OR, 4-Wheeler and that one from 4WPW all together)

My gripe was the same, that there was no real how-to information. How to set up gears? Take your Jeep to this local shop and we'll show pictures. Wait, how do I set preload, backlash, pattern? What tools will I need? Sorry, these are the kind of things best left to professionals. All of the pseudo product reviews were just ads. What are the odds every tire they try is great?

But I did spend a lot of time looking at the parts and pondering which ones I would get. I would check the prices on tires from different vendors even though I wasn't planning to buy any.

I used to buy several 4x4 magazines back in the 80's when I had K5's and 4x4 pickups..still have a milk crate full under my bed of old Petersen Off Road and Hot Rod magazines,among others..

I had about 3 or 4 milk crates full ,but my room got flooded once back in the 90's and only one crate didn't end up in the puddle..lost many nice old Motor's manuals dating back to the 50's and a lot of other neat books...now books I care about get put up on shelves!..

Newspapers are a dying breed too it seems,the few left are all left wing socialist propaganda content..

I'm surprised it took them so long. This was 5-8 years too late if you ask me. Motor Trend needs to put more efforts into their App and start having each one of their shows/series put out more videos a month. That's the one beef I have with their app is the couple of series I really like to watch, you only get a video or two a month, at best (and I'm not counting those dumb "Extras", I mean a real video). Maybe by finally getting rid of the printed magazines, they'll start pushing the videos more.

I am totally on board with this. I have subscribed to MTOD for the last 2 years. They need to take all the magazines and turn them into TV shows. Peterson's could be an entire set of series.

I also want to see more American motorsports coverage. Make a deal with the nhra, and score, and WErock, and Ultra4. Shit I'll pay double.

I let Chevy High Performance go a while ago. Car Craft I finally let go sometime in the past couple years. It was the last of the useful automobile magazines. Definitely lost interest in Bloat Rod and Ford Wheeler decades ago.

I thought it would be forums that killed the magazines but it turns out Facespace and Instasnaptwatter killed everything.

I'm not too surprised. The only mag I still get is diesel power and even that most of the articles are useless. Or about 200k "farm trucks " that you know never see any sort of actual work.

I get it to see what new stuff might be coming out. It's cheap enough.
