Dropped a 5.3 into an '86 Suburban chassis using AA engine mount adapters. I'm going to have to modify the engine cross member for pan clearance. The right hand exhaust manifold looks like it is going to clear but the right hand side doesn't look like it is going to work without some frame surgery.

Has anyone here put a gen III small block into a '73-'87('91) Chevy 4x4? Are the f body manifolds narrower and will they clear?

drivers side clears without much issue, just need to start the first bend in the pipe pretty quick...pass side ALMOST clears. a slight notch to the frame will work make it clear along with grinding down on the wannabe egr deal they have on them.

what are you doing on getting it running??

The PCM is getting reprogrammed, I'm working on the harness when I get a chance but I'm building wheels tomorrow.

I finished putting the centers into the wheel blanks for my new tires and my wife and I mounted the tires today and rolled them up against the frame.

What are the torque specs for the 5.3? Looking at the tires I'm wondering if it might be a bit of a dog to drive??? Just an amateur observation.

The 5.3 puts out 295 hp and 335 torque, with 7.17 gears in the diffs and an ORD 203/205 doubler it won't have any trouble getting around.
