5.3l fuel pressure issues

Hang on until you check this out.
I hope the pictures will turn out. I got them off Rockauto.com, and they may be small when posted here.
Rockauto is not absolutely guaranteed to be right, but they are pretty darn good.
And they show two fairly different pumps for that engine depending on if its flex or not.

In the pictures, the one with the clip and the vacuum port on the top is the flexfuel one.

Ok, after I posted, I realize that the two pictures seem together.
So, just to be clear, that is two regulators, the one with the top vacuum port is flex, the one with the side is nonflex.

Alright I just got off the phone with Airtex and here are the specs for the E2000 pump:

30-40 GPH and 70-95 PSI

I believe that should be enough pressure for this engine...?

Fordum I can't open the pics you attached, so I am going to post the pictures in the post.

This is the flex fuel one, the one I am using:

And this is the non-flex one, they will not interchange with each other either. The non-flex will not fit into where the flex-fuel regulator goes.

Well third times a charm I guess. Just swapped out yet another regulator and pressures are within limits and holding strong. Hard to believe I got so many bad ones, but its working good now with the new one. Now hopefully the check engine light will stay off too.

Thanks for all the help and replies

I posted this whole story elsewhere, so no need to go through it again. But I once was involved in a situation where a parts guy brought out a bad part 5 times.
Actually it was not bad, just the wrong part.
But when you brought it back, he would take it back, and bring you a replacement.
Turned out it was in the wrong box, and he would just go back, check the number and bring back the same part.

In their partial defense, I think there were more than one guy involved.
Even so, I wonder how many actual bad parts there were in your case.......

Sorry about the pictures, I thought I had posted them in my post, guess I did something wrong.

Ive been waiting to find out the outcome of this.It got buried back quick.Anyway Im glad to see you fixed it but not convinced they were all bad.About the only thing Ive ever seen go wrong is a leak through the vacume port.Im suspecting a install error of some sort or the wrong ones.

Advanceauto is good for that.Order 3 flex brake lines/left/right and rear.I get 2 left.Go back and return it.I get another left.I go back again to return it again and they have another left.I had to go online and find the part# for them so I could get the right hose.:(

Its pretty hard to install these things wrong, its just 2 orings, a clip, and a vacuum line. I did take the new one out to try the other one they had given me prior and it didn't work. Put the new one on and it worked perfect. All the ones I had gotten were the same part #
