502 FI bigblock

Thats the exact same color and scheme of paint on my '91 K5.

Won't matter if that truck has a 1 ton 4L80E. 3/4 tons had them, too, beginning in '91. Maybe the seller didn't know that fact. Or maybe his tranny was from a 1 ton truck.

Have you contacted the seller to ask what kind of FI he's got on there?

A little high on the price? Considering its got a RJ? Do you know how much the RJ's sell for? Thats like buying the RJ and getting the truck free.

Thats only if that motor in the pics is an RJ.

It might be an RJ. I can't find any pics anywhere of the passenger side of the RJ. Trying to find a pic of that fuel rail. Even if the front of the air cleaner looks the same, I can't tell from the rest of it.

The current owner is the third owner,and has owned the truck for about 6 years. Says he only drives it only in good weather and no gravel roads.
The first owner put in the 502, so particulars and miles on the engine are unknown.

What would the practicality be of buying the truck, then swapping in a warmed up 350 for the 502? Then sell the 502 or save it for my '77 K30 short bed project.

If its a matter of gas mileage I couldn't see a small block, even a built one being more efficient at moving that behemoth than the low end of a 502. Why go through the trouble of swapping it out for not much gain in anything. Thats my logic, screwy as it sounds. Besides its kinda cool saying you've got a 502 under the hood, isn't it?

Ryoken, I did some research today and found out that the 502 BBC has been used in Marine applications since at least as early as 1990. Just thought you and anyone else might want to know. I still can't find the info on when they started using them in motorhomes but I know it was before Marine and HD commercial stuff.
