Given that next year is the 50th anniversary of the first Blazer, I'm considering producing a commemorative grill badge to celebrate. My brother did something similar for the Bronco (we are a house divided) and has gotten a very positive response. I figured I could leverage his experience and do something similar for our community if there is interest.

A couple of questions:
a) would you be interested?
b) which of the two designs do you prefer? (hard to tell but the "K/5" would be a 3D element sticking up a little; maybe the 50 as well, not sure yet)
c) any suggestions to improve the design(s)?
d) would you prefer a badge you could secure to your grill or one you could stick on your dash, glovebox door, or tool chest (the first has threaded studs off the back, the latter would be flat so you could use an adhesive) or both?

I only have renderings, but if you want to get a sense for how they could turn out you can check out my brother's site (www.eb4x4.com) to see photos of his. The quality is quite good; they came out better than I had expected.

I like option 1 colors, but option 2 layout. I would prefer the more black. I would remove the "K5" portion as that really only applies to 69-88 Blazers "technically"

I'm partial to option 1 (black). Something I could adhear with double sided tape.

My opinion is going to be super unpopular, but I feel like you should only celebrate a vehicle that's been in production for the whole duration. Like the Camaro. They killed it for 9 years...

But,
If you made the red one black, made the 50 in black, and changed 1969- 2019
To est. 1969 I think it would be cool.

I agree with the black on option 2.
I also agree that Est. 1969 would be better.
I’m thinking fender badge next to the factory badge. I prefer adhesive as long as it is a really good one.
I will definitely order.

This is what I was going to say. 1969-2019 implies it's been built throughout all those years. I only wish it were true. No reason to coddle anybody who can't calculate when the 50th anniversary of 1969 falls.

I'm probably a step further than you...as far as I'm concerned, the 2019 is a pile of horse dung, and it ain't no Blazer, lol. I didn't expect it to be a solid axled brute of a Jeep killer, but I also didn't expect the neutered nightmare than we got either, lol.

Part of me almost would rather have an overlay for the factory grill emblem, though I suppose that leaves out the GMC folks, and probably runs afoul of trademark laws. I like the black one better, and could be in for two, though as always, cost considering. $65? Kinda on the fence on that one....

I'll also be unpopular...

I don't get the badge shape, it doesn't "flow" with anything related to any year Blazer. I could see a horizontal rectangle or something fitting the trucks better because it would feel more like a special edition emblem. For me, it would need to blend with the factory emblems a little more.

Cool Idea!
I like the color scheme of #1
But I like badge #2
Keep the white 50 it stands out better
Adhesive backing in my opinion gives you more mounting options

Same here. At first glance, neither of them really caught my eye. Nothing specific but the geometry and colors just don't appeal to me. With that said, thanks for taking this on!

Maybe a bowtie type badge. Less red, maybe include yellow?

The badge on that website looks really good. Most of our grills have a Chevy or GMC logo in the center, so where will this be placed? Can you photoshop a grill or something to see how it would look?

Nvrenuf is spot on. A different shape that flows better with the shape of the truck would be much better in my opinion too.
To me the Bronco emblem looks really wack for this reason exactly. The Bronco is nothing but a square so the curves don’t flow.
The more it can look like something GM designers should have thought of on their own the better.

Two reasons I don't like this one, ha. It's a Ford (but I do like the older boxy Bronco body style). The geometry just doesn't look right for this one either. Doesn't really identify or tie it to a Bronco.

Maybe look, if you haven't already done so, at early model factory emblems and pull something off of those. Keep those brain cells going though! I'm excited to see what is finalized!

Something like this?

To me the "C" connects the badge to this website, I think you need to go with something more "global" or inclusive. But I think yer on to something.

What do you guys think?

I've been going through the factory brochures of the K5, looking at emblems and decals, maybe that could spawn some inspiration.
