So i am wondering how much up/down travel you guys are running on these shocks, lil over 14" total travel...
i know suspension hight etc makes a big difference, just want to make sure im in the ball park as far as up/down travel...

I'm running the 255/70 and a 14"...love em so far, it comes down pretty smooth after a big drop off (like dropping off a ledge) also the Timbren bumps work great.
Haven't run them on the dune whoops yet, but everything else has been very satisfactory.

It all depends on how your truck is setup and how you have (or don't have) your suspension limited. My 5150's are setup almost 50/50 up vs down travel. At ride height I have about 7" of shaft showing.

currently have 52" swap in front with b2 kit mounted. springs mounted one position short of all the way forward. 1" ez lift block in the front too. springs are just 2 inch lift springs. shackles are 6"... but thinking about reducing them...
i will be using the ford shock towers...

sittin on 35" tires right now, truck hood is to my shoulder, so yea its a lil tall but i play in mud ALOT with ocational trails and stuff. not too many rocks in ol Missouri

curious also
I have the furd towers, 4" lift TC springs with zero rate moved 1.5" forward. I have 5125s and have 6" showing. I have not had it out of the yard yet though. :(

I have not had it out of the yard yet though.:(

I hear ya! :haha:

When I set mine up, I measured compression and droop, as best I could in the yard, and ignored the "at rest" measurement. I dropped one side and lifted the other with the body held up on stands. It would be more accurate if I had a forklift or was actually out on the trail, but this is a start.

I then mounted the shocks so that at the maximum measured compression, there's still another inch or so to go on the shock. This keeps the shocks from acting as bump stops. Correspondingly, assuming I've measured properly, at full droop the shock will still have some give, so it won't act as a limiting strap either.

:dunno: We'll see how it ends up...

you guys use bump stops or limit straps too?

No, course thats probably why Avery has the same leaf springs for some time now and I am on my 3rd set :D:D:D

In all reality bumpstops should be a part of any good suspension setup. Limit straps can be used when needed but in leaf springs I don't find you need them very often. Unless you are using them to keep components from coming apart.

Limit straps are going in Veronica hopefully very soon.

I got timbren bumps, love em, but might need limit straps???

If you're hitting the end of the shock travel or pulling driveshafts to far.... Whatever may be happening at the bottom of the suspension cycle. Could be a good idea.

6" spring lift. 5160s in rear 14" travel 6" sticking out Droop and 8 to compress Loving these shocks.
Same up Front only Different Brand of Shock
Good Luch and enjoy
