1/2 ton status
That's true, that's why I never swapped to them in my truck with the old 1/2 ton stuff. Now that I have crossover and everything, I'm considering it. I'll have do decide whether or not I'm still happy with my lift springs.jekbrown said:I'm not 100% sure why someone would want to do a 52" spring swap when you really wouldn't be able to take advantage of its benefits (mad droop is pretty much the benefit)... but I guess if it was one step in the build progression, you could do it before you did x-over.
We just did it on my friend's truck, cause that was the only way we could get a free lift.
If we had some 4" lift springs laying around that were stock length, we probably would've used them. This truck wasn't built to be a hard core wheeler anyway. All the same, it turned out pretty good. That truck has come a long way. Used to be 2wd auto, now it's got about 4-5" lift, 37" open country tires on 17" H2 rims. Looks pretty sharp, drives pretty good, and doesn't get stuck in the snow half way up his driveway anymore either.
Mission accomplished, on a tight budget. We're happy with it at least.
