52" springs up front, how do they behave on the highway?

I dont see why someone wouldnt just swap in 52's but make it to where the axle was still in the stock location. That way you could still use stock steering/swaybar.

there are issues with doing that. when the mod first evolved, people tried it, and ended up moving the front hanger to avoid more headaches;) i believe the shackle was against the frame or something of the sorts

Well, I picked up a set of 4" front lift springs for the GMC, not sure who they are made by, but they are in good shape as far as I can tell. I'll still do the 63" spring swap, using the springs from the 93 1 ton I'm about to pick up, just for the additional ride quality they have to offer. The truck rides like it has no suspension right now, stiff as a brick...

i did it. it works. You can't run the stock 4.5" shackles, but get a set of 6.5 or 7" shackles and you are gold...and why would you really want to run such a short shackle with a spring THAT flexy? I dd the truck, drive it on the highway, etc etc. It CAN get a little squirley if you hit some extreme pothole at speed, but its not bad at all IMO. Sure, the body roll is there...but its a blazer, not a corvette, drive it like its got the raised COG it has...

BTW, for those that say you HAVE to do x-over with 52s, you don't. I didn't till october when i swapped in my 60, and i did teh 52 swap in april. I would maybe run a limiting strap on the drivers side to keep the steering from fully maxing out...but it can be done, its just not pretty. Its definately nice to have, i definately recommend it, but its not like you HAVE to do it with 52s IF you keep the axle in the stock location. I DDed it for 4-5 months, no real issues, just bad bumpsteer offroad...can you imagine that??

how far back did you movie the shackle mount? I want to run 56 inch springs, so I was wondering if I could move the shackle mount them in the same place and still use the B52 kit from DIY4x. I want to run 3 inch lift 56 up front and 2 1/2inch 63s out back utilizing the stock rear hanger(in the factory location) and just flipping sides of the shackle flip( when I finally get my lazy a$$ out there to work on it ill show yall my trick I have up my sleave)
