56\"rear spring - normally or backwards???

Just got the 4" shackel flip from ORD and want to know what flex better with 56",the backwards set up or the normally way ? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
(dont need the extra 4" wheelbase)

OR just stay with the 52"? /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

thanks

The 56's will flex alot more than the stock 52's, they will still flex the same backwards or normal, just flip the ORD brackets around and bolt them on, if you want the extra 4" wheelbase run the backwards if you dont run them normal, just remember your driveshaft will change so make up your mind and stick with it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 56\"rear spring - normally or backwards???

Actually, long side in front will allow more axle wrap and will cause the pinion to rotate downward when the axle droops. And, because the spring perches are on the back side of the arch instead of the front, you'll likely have to run largish shims or rotate the perches to get proper pinion alignment with the drive shaft. Shackle flip will counter some of the angle issues, but I doubt it will be sufficient.

If I flip the ORD brackets around do I need alonger shackel or I'll be fine with the original one?

I prefer no to move the brackets back , it will affecte my axle droop.

you wont have to move it back, just flip them side to side and bolt it up.
