hey putting 63's in rear so putting at least 52's up front. say i want to run 56's or f%rd 57's up front any big no no's why not?

Why are 56's any more work? I have 52's, White-Rhyno has 56's... mine were way more work... we both had to move the front mount forward 4", we both have 7.25" long shackles... only diff is I had to move my upper shackle mount forward 3" in the frame to have a decent shackle angle, and w/ the 56's White-Rhyno just left his alone.85mudblazin said:I have heard that there isnt much of a flex difference between the 52's and the 56's, just more work to get the 56's in.
If it was me I would just run the 52's, they are so much easier to install.
yep! Thats how I mocked up my 52's and 56's... I needed the 56's for the rear so I just used the 52's up front and moved my frame shackle... 7.25" shackles alsoPoohbair said:only diff is I had to move my upper shackle mount forward 3" in the frame to have a decent shackle angle, and w/ the 56's White-Rhyno just left his alone.
Yea i spent way less time putting in the 56's. 8 less rivets i had to grind out......Poohbair said:Why are 56's any more work? I tried cutting the holes in my frame w/ a hole saw, and that was a joke... I would say by the time I removed the old shackle mounts, figured out where to move them to, drilled new holes, and cut the big hole I was in it a few hours and a few bucks in grade 8 bolts. Its not a matter of how much time/work it was, I was just saying that the 56's will go in w/ LESS work... even if you have a shop full of cool **** and it only takes you 10 minutes.beater_k20 said:a nice hole saw, 10 minutes and you're good to go.
You can see my shackle angle in this pic... and this is after I moved the shackle mount 3" forward. Shackle is 7.25" long.4GUNZ4X4Z said:Ok, does one move the axle forward more then the other or will the 52's and 56's put the front axle in the same spot?
JJlaughner, your the only one that I have seen move the upper shackel forward, unless Im mistaken. I assumed the weight of everything up front would push the shackel rearward.
Does anybody else have pics of their front shackels with 52's?
i've done it4GUNZ4X4Z said:JJlaughner, your the only one that I have seen move the upper shackel forward, unless Im mistaken. I assumed the weight of everything up front would push the shackel rearward.
mine hasnt had the full weight of the truck on it yet, as it has no engine or trans or front clip on it. Tim's seems to do pretty good there, but with his Superlift(?) 6" springs, his pinion angle points towards the ground a little more than i'd like mine to. i think if i put some weight on mine, i'll be just fine. its pointed a few degrees up towards the transfer case area right now, and should go up a little more with weight.Bhintz said:and you guys w/ 56s and 52s do you like that shackle length or would you go shorter
hmmm good question..... if i cant find one ill get one for you.Bhintz said:white ryhno do you have a pic of your pinion angle
