57 Pontiac "Zero Fox"

Bringing this thread, and this car back from the dead.

What's new? Well, I didn't sell this car. I also didn't sell the Fury. The '57 has a name finally, and I am not doing some slavishly stock resto. Yes, it is a time capsule, but it was also a wrecked car destined to be a parts car at best. ANYTHING I do with this car is a win, so I don't need to feel a certain way about anything. This is the Zero Fox Pontiac and I hope the name says most all of it.

I've worked hard the last few years, and now it's time to have some fun. I have a loose plan in my head. I want to be able to drive this to work when i feel like it, or just cruise it. I would like to take it to the track too though. Maybe even do a drag and drive event at some point?

Anyways, I picked up a super crusty small block this past weekend (thanks Dean...I think. lol). If the block is not junk I will talk to a local machine shop/engine builder and see if it makes sense to build it. If it makes more sense to do a crate engine I'll do that. I'd like to keep it a three pedal car. I'm exploring trans options. There is a local shop selling refurb'd Aisin AR5 tranny's here and claiming they hold up well behind up to 600-700 hp. Maybe a TKX 5 speed? That will hold up for sure.

My wife says I should just do one car, but I still like the Fury too. It's a few hours from running, but is outside the garage right now.

Step one, clean the Foxin garage!!

If that greasy mess of a 350 gave you some inspiration I’m a happy guy. If it’s trash it was good to see you and Deb anyway!

Its a cool car! I like the direction your going with it. :waytogo:

I’m a bit slow… just got the name.
I like it!

Any excuse to come see you guys is worth it. Junk or not, that engine did not move a single millimeter the entire way home. We definitely nailed the tie down on it...
