So, supply chain BS has had a few things sitting in limbo lately. I finally cancelled a couple of items to get the rest on it's way, then re-ordered some similar items that were in stock. Lately I've been working on more of the front of the car while everything is easy to get to. eBay tubular control arms, QA1 adjustable coil overs with 350# springs, and a full Leed disc brake kit. Rotors, calipers, brackets, all the bearings, seals, and small parts, disc/drum dual chamber master, prop/combination valve, and brake lines.
The start was removing the original suspension. I borrowed a method I saw on a youtube channel I follow. (DD speed Shop)
Basically you remove the shock and insert about two feet of threaded rod with a flat plate on the bottom and nut and washer on top.
Next you set up your floor jack under the lower arm pivot bar and remove the mount bolts.
Then you loosen the nut on the all thread until it goes slack, and let the jack down a little. lather, rinse, repeat...
Then you unbolt the upper control arm and remove the entire assembly.
Requisite cleaning and rattle can resto action...
much better!

And the frustrating part. i opened the bag with the passenger side lower arm, and no mounting bolts, or weird mounting wedge block. Foxing seller responded immediately last week, and now seems to be ghosting me.
All the tie rods and steering links feel tight. I'm going to continue cleaning them, give em a shot of grease and carry on. The center link does hit the oil pan at right and left limits. How much further it could steer I kinda don't know. I never counted turns lock to lock before dropping in the 389. Right now it has 3 3/4 turns being stopped by the oil pan at either direction. Being a manual box I am going to guess it should have more like 5 turns lock to lock and some oil pan mods are upcoming...
Parts arriving soon:
Melonized distributor gear.
Trans mount
filler neck repop
Canister fuel filter
more steel line and inverted flare fittings for brake lines
Strange billet 1350 trans yoke
Exhaust stuff, elbows, straight tube, collector three bolt rings.
That's it for now. Probably spend some more time cleaning the underneath of the car, and maybe install the gas tank tomorrow.
