Well I've started tearing into the new blazer, interior is all stripped out, will be repairing the rust, bedlining, and adding a cage. But first I've got a mech. question. I was driving the truck home the other day after wheeling over some dirt piles behind work. The truck now makes a shrieking noise like a belt slipping, and the volts on the alternator droped 2-3, and a burnt rubber smell, but only under load.. Limped it home, and it stopped squealing 2 miles from the house. Did an oil change, replaced the thermostat etc., cranked up the truck, and the squeal was back. It looked like the alternator belt was loose, so I tightened it up, and the squeal got worse. Throw me some ideas to look at before I trailer it down to the diesel shop....Dave
