Anyone out there have any input of the Headers that are made by "Stans Headers" for the 6.2 Diesel in a K5 Blazer

I don't think you will notice that much of a performance gain that would be worth the $600 they want for them.

If there was everyone would be running them.

I called those guys to talk about it with them. They stated that "with a properly tuned pump and our headers you'll be within several horsepower of a banks turbo kit".

I'm doubtful even if you do turn up the pump to maximum as measured by EGT's... BUT they should help a bit... and be a small weight save... and look cool!

From my understanding a N/A diesel would respond better to headers than gas engines would........but I have a hard time believing you could get anywhere close to the power of a turbo with just headers.

AGREED.

Within 7 hp of banks system with 2.5 duals and a properly tuned IP is what the manager at Stans stated to me.

I may get a set, but not because of that statement.

I guess another thing to keep in mind that you can crank up the IP quite a bit on the engine and get more power....but it would smoke like a freight train and not last long.

I would love to have a set of those headers to try out, but no way I can justify spending that much coin.

What are the spec's on those headers as far as primary and collector size?

I've been thinking of trying hog out a set of manifolds at the outlet to get 2.5" true ID if possible, then run larger better flowing exhaust. My pick-up needs new exhaust anyways, and I have an extra set of manifolds. IP has already been tweaked upwards...

There's a guy over on The Diesel Page that swears by those. Has a very built NA 6.2L.

I'm not a big fan of adding complications so that's my main issue with a turbo...more crap in the way and less room to work in the engine bay along with more stuff to go wrong. Has me pondering but yes, $600 is steep...

ok I just ordered a set from Stan’s I will have them in a week and I will post what think when its all done I am get them raw so I can weld a EGT bung on the header then going to send them to be Jet Hot coated

got them on and also had them Jet Hot Coated full duel 2.5" with a cross over pipe looks and works good
