6.2 tranny questions

I am swapping my 6.2 into a k5 with 4:10's and a 700R4 tranny and 35's. I want to go with a SM465 but I am wondering how my fuel mileage will do. It is a daily driver and I dont want it to drop off to much. Any suggestions?

I have got as high as 20 mpg driving around town with my '79 K20, 6.2L, 465/205, 4.10 gears and 33" tires. Worst case is usually around 16 mpg on the freeway with a strong head wind and big load. I average 18 mpg empty back and forth to work though. So far I have checked gas mileage 90% of the time I fill up and I put 50-75,000 miles on my truck each year

Ive got a 6.2 blazer 4.56 gears and 35" tires but a th400 and i commute with it averaging around 17-20.

Hey guys thanks for the info it really helps. I just need to get my rebuilt 6.2 back in and my turbo to get here.
