Would an N/A 6.5 get better milage in the same vehicle than an N/A 6.2? And why? More cubes, design etc.

I 'think' the 6.2 would be more economical. pump would flow less, prolly smaller injectors and the power difference wouldn't be enough to cause a drastic difference in throttle input versus road speed.

I'd guess the difference wouldn't be more than 1 mpg either way though

Good point Rene. That's why yer the guru and I am still the aspiring student. ;) And another reason I like the answer is I am more likely to find a 6.2 around here and for cheaper. :)

Well I don't necessarily disagree with Rene, but there is another explanation that is the opposite.
The injectors on a 6.5 true inject more fuel but also more efficiently, which gives you more power to do the work, which could mean better mileage, same with the head design, better burn, better mileage.
I think they are so close that I would buy the best deal I could find wether it's the 6.2 or 6.5
Now if I find a 6.5TD I'd go with that no question.
:D

I have never owned either engines personally but I will venture out to say I bet the mileage is very close between the two.

Yes as Rene was 1st to point out I also would believe the milage to be close. Close enough not to be too concerned about it.
