6.2 What's it good for? Just about everything.

Hahaha I was just gonna say, you stank up camp with that dang 6.2 diesel.. I know mine puffs a decent cloud in the morning!

When we rode caravan across da U.P., I usually rode in the middle. On the 2 occasions that I lead the group, Luke (or maybe Mrs. Luke? :dunno:) complained about being behind my smelly stink bucket. Dave (who usually brought up the rear) also commented on the smell but said he didn't mind.

Is my nose broken? I don't mind the smell at all. I actually prefer it to the smell of a typical rich-running gasoline engine (and I could often smell both Luke's and Dave's rigs when tailing behind them).

I guess old rigs smell. Pick your flavor. :haha:

So who be driving theirs?

Did 260 miles last weekend

Planning on closer to 400 this next week.

Also I go the speed limit so much of this trip will be at 80 mph
Man, I'm late to the party. I flip a mental coin every morning and either drive my pickup ('83 6.2) or my Blazer ('91 350) for the day. I'd take either one into the mountains/desert hunting/fishing/exploring in a heartbeat.

For longer highway trips I tend to take the Suburban ('94 6.5). We'll be driving it to Kansas and back over Thanksgiving (hopefully with a couple coolers full of venison on the return trip).

I've got 'em all to the point where I'd trust 'em to go pretty much anywhere I wanna go...and I'm fairly proud of that.

What part of Kansas?

And I would like to get to a point were I have a couple 6.X's in great running order. So that I can have a coin to flip.

I am also back to DD duties with the CC.

My Cherokee is nice and nimble for traffic and parking lots, but the diesel just demands respect and usually gets it!

Yates Center

I will admit, there's been a few times over the years where I hopped in one, something unexpected happened (dead battery, etc.), and I hopped into a different one...gotta have depth...:D

That's cool. Yates Center is only about 1.5-2hours south of me. My dad picked up a '60 Belair out of a barn near there. That was a cool car.

Yeah, hopping into a Cherokee with bad ball joints due to a dead battery or something in the diesel, is not an upgrade...
