6.2 What's it good for? Just about everything.

Since this is turning into a picture thread, I'll throw out my double-trouble pictures again. I'll reiterate my statement that a diesel burb isn't nearly as bad a tow rig as people seem to think. :dunno:

Diesel burbs are awesome

I agree! :thumb:

When I bought my '85 K10 Burb,it had a nearly full tank--former owner put 10 gallons of kerosene in the tank the day I bought it,it was around thanksgiving in 2009...he told me the guy he bought it from had "converted it to run on biodiesel"...

(his mods consisted of cutting a hole in the floor to access the sending unit on the 40 gallon tank, and running about 15 feet of rubber fuel line all the way from an electric fuel pump mounted right behind the spring shackle on the passenger side, to a raycor filter on the firewall.."special hose" that wont swell up,etc..I see no other "special" things)!.

Lord knows what he may have been running the engine on--maybe used engine oil, veggie oil ?...I think the kerosene was added so it would start, and make the ten mile ride to my house without incident..

I have never registered it yet,and its only been moved around the yard a few dozen times, but I did start it up every so often to try and keep the batteries up,they died in 2013 though...
I bet I have let it run a good 10 hours sitting in it at fast idle over the years, and believe it or not--I still have 1/8th of a tank left !..and they say kerosene wont deliver as good fuel mileage compared to #2 diesel...

Optimizer is the improved block. No cracking issues.

It's easy to boost those blocks way way way over what a stock block can handle

Pretty sure optimizer only came in repowered Humvees

Peninsular offers a 300 hp 520 lb ft drop in replacement p400 6.5. You gotta buy Heath diesels oil pan

If only I had 10k lol

Call me a traitor if you want, but if I was putting $10k into an engine I'd be running an inline industrial engine (like a B-series or a small Cat). I'm not a fan of the V8/V6 engine architecture. Too hard to access the exhaust side of things...

He makes killer fuel pump harness'. Bought 2 of them and a Walbro frame mount pump for my 2wd diesel burb. Now if I can only get a weekend that's not thunder booming or 100" out I will install said parts.

I cannot help myself. Every time I see a photo of the P400's main girdle, I mentally reshuffle all plans and scheme to have that long block in my life. Let five minutes pass, and I'm back to reality.

WANT.

same here. 500 ft-lbs without the headaches of a computer? Man, that would be Christmas every day!
