6.2 What's it good for? Just about everything.

Thanks man! I don't mind messing around ask @bent72 hes a freaking old timer so I don't want it to sound like I'm some prick, but I do acknowledge that I do have issues making a final decision, call it paralysis by analysis..

I understand. My blazer was in pieces longer than yours has been, and my goals were much smaller than yours. Talk about paralysis, it took me forever just to get my first test drive!

Well as part of my plan(in progress) to remove debt from my existence I have to have a vehicle to drive, this has had a lot of time in it already and money to get it driving well, which it does damn good actually even run up to 70 or so it's really smooth, loud but smooth. I try to feel the shifter for any strange vibration that might seem bad when spun up like that, it just takes it for thousands of miles now.. totally surprising..
so I'll do a couple more things to this to make it quieter, see sound deadening, a cheap as can be radio with Bluetooth for the possible phone call, got my wife one last year for 99$ with the speakers! Pioneer too!
And then the main reliability side of this like the sm465 rebuild and tcase replacement.
The turbo if the only I have is good I'll see if I can track down 6.5 parts(exhaust) to get it on there some way. Until that happens I'll run it as is. Not the most comfortable or prettiest but I love this truck as much as my others and for driving back and forth and ditching the car payment I didn't see any other way to do that without starting all over.

Well done on knocking the debt down. You will never regret buying your freedom, it makes life sooooo much easier. Our year would have been HARD if we were still dealing with debt. As it was, we're still alive, and happier then ever to have made the hard choices in previous years.

We're good @campfire im glad you werent trying to go out of your way to be a jerk for no reason. The internets are hard because there is no way to sense what someone is saying even though you could literally type what you are saying and have it still not make sense.
And yes your humor is welcome albiet weird (just kidding) and I won't hold it against you because that's really hard to do from 2k miles away. And I prob wouldn't make it with a 6.2 diesel anyway.

Thanks for watching my threads, I seriously try to keep it interesting, I have lots of ideas and am diligently trying to make each one a reality. The hard part is how much to compromise on the idea or to wait until later to attempt to use it.

I suppose the debt thing has been a long time coming, I have an excellent sounding board so I can make wise decisions on how to approach this the smartest way possible. I done it and now I gotta fix it.. momma is on board, Ethel is on board Lucy is too, so with actually almost no real lifestyle changes aside the nice car it'll become a reality real soon. I am st the point where I don't really know how else to do it because we've cut down on all the other monthly spending, don't eat out, no cable, cell bill cut down, etc..

Do the SM465/NP208 need a rebuild if they are both shifting well? You might just run them for a while, this truck has set a pretty good track record so far.
The 465 is a bear and is hard to shift sometimes, makes lots of noise which I think is worn bearings or bushings, the 208 is cracked and the front output bearing moves like 1/4 inch and leaks out bad enough I just started refilling it with use motor oil.. it leaks bad.. and I have the 241c sitting here.

Ima gonna put this here....

Well the saga continues.. replaced the transfer case in Ethel and no sooner did I get that done did I discover the new water pump had given up the ghost...
Gonna be a loonnng week just before the mint thrashing to fix this and finish the race truck.. gotta have it to chase and run the 500 miles there and back.. dammit

Sadface.

I'm trying to figure out before I dump more cash into it if the motor is good, i fixed the return lines once and for all with all new lines and caps and it runs really good actually and is smoother than it has ever been. Also getting 17 mpg too which I am very happy with. But the timing couldn't be worse.. I suppose it is what it is..

My main deal is if I'm replacing the oil pan and timing chain then I'll do that and the pump all at the same time but it doesn't appear I'll get that choice!
