Hey guys
I came a cross a tired 95 6.5 TD (the bottom end has a bad knock) for REALLY cheap, and need to know if it would be worth it to install the turbo and possibly even the heads on my 6.2. About how much boost does the factory turbo push and would the heads be worth the effort.
Thanks

Yes, the 6.5L heads will flow better, and the 6.5L injectors will flow more fuel. The 6.5L turbo system will put out about 10-12 psi without modifications.

If the engine is high-mileage, you'll probably need to have the heads rebuilt. It might cost up to $600 to have them completely gone-through, including having the water passages between the valves sleeved. They usually crack in that location.

Just to help you decide if the engine is a good price or not, new 6.5L heads are about $525 each and a good used turbo system is worth $500 or more.
