6.2L Diesel in need of Help

Remove the return fitting on top of the injection pump and check for coffee grounds in it

After 6+ mos of this thing sitting around, it is finally fixed. I was selling an axle and the guy asked me if I wanted any 6.2 diesel parts in trade. We got to talking and I told him about this and what it was doing. He said that he thought he knew what the issue was and could fix it in about 5 minutes. I told him that if he could fix it the axle was his for no $. He showed, replaced the return fitting on top of the injection pump, and had it running as good as ever in about 5 minutes. I did not know what you meant by check for coffee grounds until afterwards. Anyways, the plow rig is back in action. Thanks for the help,

if you still have the old return fitting ,its usely a glass ball check valve.check if you can see true it! its usely clogs with pieces of teflon from the pomps bushing.which usely means your pomps going out!!if you see true. its ok i guess. if not its going too happen again. i used to clean mine out with a needle!!! done it 3 times then it would not run anybetter, had too replace pomp.

Thanks for the info. The K5 is running great right now. I have a spare injector pump if I need it. Sure hope I don't though.
