Hey folks.. I have an 84' 6.2L Jimmy and it's the first diesel I've ever owned, so here's one that may or may not be a dumb question.. My rig is a fair weather toy only so it'll be garaged all winter and started and run only periodically.. I use battery tenders on everything I own but I didn't know if it mattered which of the two batteries in a diesel I hook up to?.. Soooo.. Does it matter?, or will both batteries charge off of one tender regardless of which battery I connect to?.. I just use standard issue 12V tenders that go into a simple maintenance mode once a full charge is achieved..

Hooking the charger to the positive and negative of one of the batteries will charge both up--they are hard wired together...

These are batteries on opposite sides of the hood, right? That (standard) arrangement puts the batteries in parallel, as said above. I just wanted to clarify that you aren't dealing with one of the military blazers that are wired for 12V/24V instead of standard 12V.
