I just drove this rig 4400 miles from Phoenix Arizona to Jacksonville Florida, then upstate NE New York. The last few hundred miles it developed an exhaust leak up front, but further investigation at home didn't show any leaks at the turbo or exhaust manifold.

So I crawled underneath, and grasped the 3" aftermarket exhaust, and the pipe was completely loose!

So I removed the pass ex. manifold w Turbo, and the down pipe appears to not have enuff of a bell mouth flange. It barely gets grabbed by the joining ring. The turbo ex housing is to the rite. It seemed quiet until recently.

There is also about 1 foot of flex pipe below this pipe. Is this "normal". This is the stuff the rednecks use to make an exhaust system. It actually seems to work OK...

i have seen them apart and that flare at the turbo end is not correct.

and factory has no cheep parts store flex pipe.

you need a factory down pipe and then have a good exaust shop splice the rest to it.

The local muffler shop made me a new flare end, and he said $10-$15. It seems the original flare broke off pretty clean, and dissapeared.

Cheapo flex pipe? It'll have to do. Sorta' like the corrugated/stainless flex pipe all the Jap cars have...
