my plan is to use a 6 in lift on my suburban project, with 6 "'s will i need to modify the drivelines?

really?? Maybe it's the different brand liftI beg to differ on that one. My buddy runs a 6" lift on his 'burb, and I'm running 5" lift on a longbed, both with stock d-shafts. No, netiher one of us has had a d-shaft pull out on the trail.![]()
Or they may have sent him the wrong one. I've heard it sat up higher than any 6" lift they had seen.

Ok so i was wrong. I'll mark that on the calendar![]()

Did it come out??
I'd agree a K5 would have d-shaft problems, but yeah, Carl's (El Martillo on here) '87 'burb is 6" springs up front and 4" flip w/ 3" block in the rear with no problem. Then he smashed the rear shaft on some rocks.![]()
No, he was just using it for a rock-slider, and it got a little dented.Did it come out??
OK, a LOT dented. He had it retubed and is still using it.I seeNo, he was just using it for a rock-slider, and it got a little dented.OK, a LOT dented. He had it retubed and is still using it.

Which did he have to lengthen, the front? Some might have issues with the front due to a hort trans/t-case combo like my K20 with th350/np205. The front on mine was a little short when I put in 6" springs, but I just unscrewed the seal cap on the slipyoke. It still didn't pull apart on the trail. The rears are fine due to the long wheelbase making a smaller angle change on the d-shaft. Blazers get a lot of angle change on the rear d-shaft when lifted, resulting in a bigger change in d-shaft length.Ok so what's the big difference between a sub and say a regular truck blazer than?? I know a longbed a friend of mine had he had to have his lengthened
I've never ran more than 4" so i wouldn't know. besides the longbed i bought
pretty sure he got both. Maybe the rear wasn't necessary but he didn't want to change how much splines was holdingWhich did he have to lengthen, the front?
