Yeah, that's 6.2 diesel range. Take MPG readings with a grain of salt, more often than not the speedometer readings are not calibrated for tires and gear changes.
You aren't getting 20MPG out of a gas K5 with 38" tires, sorry.
Keep the truck stock, make sure it's in good tune, drive about 50MPH on perfectly flat ground in cool weather for a long distance, and you can achieve 18MPG with a 350.

plugs gapped at .048
Adjustable FPR set at 14 PSI
Electric adjustable MAP sensor. I can lean out the fuel mixture for economy or richen it up for performance with a switch in the cab.
Timing set at 4*
Keep the tires properly aired up.
Change all fluids regularly.
I am prolly one of the few people on this board that is very pleased with the gas milage my K5 gets. I have never complained about it. I use it for a DD when I get tired of driving my Mustang and want a change.
