i think i found a hp 60 for a good price about 20 mins from me..now i have a few questions here is what he said about it...

it is an 86 high pinion, kingpin, drivers drop, 67 3/4 wide, no rust, 4.1 ratio. There is enough room between the center section and the drivers side knuckle to mount brackets for a 4 link or other custom suspension.

now what will have to be done to put this in the k5??

Well for one a drivers drop transfercase , and maybe exhaust changes , and remote mount the oil filter . And enough lift to help with those issues .

Ford np205 with a Chevy input , and IFS rig floor shifted GM np241 both come to mind here .

i have a 203/ford 205 doubler waiting...thats not the problem...im badass90k5s thread someone said something about incresed pumpkin offset...

Yeah I just read that today too , it wa about the 70's axles were easier to work with than the 80's and 90's axles . I think he said 78-79 was what to use . Gonna search back on that :thumb:

I think the length of tube between the pumpkin and the knuckle is shorter on the newer axles, doesnt leave much room to work with for brackets or whatever you want to do.

is that it??im not running a 4 link just leaves...im more concerened about the perches...

thinking about running something like this but for a front axle...i think this would work

I dont see any reason you would need to get that involved. If you running a 4 link it shouldnt be a hard swap.

im not running a 4 link or plan on running one...just good old 52 or 56s

Well then the axle wont work. Stock spacing for our truck is 32.5" not 37+ Thats spring pad spacing, because one of the springs is molded to the pumpkin, you cant move perches

Sorry Jay didnt realize there were 2 different threads going on. But like I said in the other one, that truss thing is not the way to excecute this IMHO....

Thats newer than a '78 or '79.

Its got the track bar bracket and the u-bolt plates are different than the older axles. I'm betting 100% this is the wider 37"+ spring perch.

It would take a bunch of money just to convert it to SRW even if it had the correct spring pad spacing.
