62 Scout/86 K5 Frankenscout

Not much of an update (been working and messing with the AC on the burban). Been slowly working on the 700R4 and putting it back together. I did score on some tires and rims.

Five 37x12.5x17 for $500 :D
Four with rims :beer::beer:

Bling Bling! :pimp:

Finally found a four speed and 205 combo....

This with a new clutch :D:D:D
Now time to start putting things together.

Yeah, I was going back and forth between the auto or going back to a manual. My brother in law talked me into going with this setup.

Aurghhhhh

Finally had some time to put the "new" transmission in. I get the stinking think in and now the clutch won't move. So now I need to pull it out and see what the heck happened.

Long time, no update. Been really busy until now.

Found my clutch problem. The fork got misaligned, must have hit it when putting the tranny in.

Some pics......

This will not last long, because I just scored for FREE........

NP203

A doubler is in the future :D:D

But freight is slow now, so money is REALLY tight. Will have to wait for a while to spend any $$$.

Which auto? Th400 is 32 and you can find a tranny to work with them. A 203 with 10 splines is rare. I looked for one for a few years then stumbled on one once I had a 32 spline 465 and a 32 203. Now to find a 32 spline 205.

Looks like a 32 spline.

I don't know what my 465 is since (a) I don't know the year it came from, and (b) I didn't split the unit.

Count the splines. The 32 spline is the good one, the 10 spline is the rare one, and the 27 spline is the iron pile one.

Figured I would update my progress, or lack there of. After my dad passed a year ago, I have not been able to do anything to my project. About six months ago, my suburban developed a knock in the engine, so it has been parked also. I'm hoping to be able to get both going after taxes.

So, to hijack my own thread for a sec, my suburban has a bad noise in the engine. I finally have some spare cash to get something done. I was thinking of buying a beater burb that has a good engine for cheap (about -$1500) and do an engine swap. I would then part out the other carcass and scrap the leftovers. Doing this might net all my cash back ( free engine ). BTW, there are two burbs near me for $1500, not nearly as nice as mine, but with good engines. I need a tow vehicle for the scout to go anywhere.

The other option would be the F250 I inherited that has a 6.9 IDI. It also needs work. It would also need to a turbo to even come close to the power a sick 454 has (let alone pulling a mountain pass).

I also inherited a 1999 Dodge 1500 sb 2wd that I will sell (when I get title) to get the final capital needed to finish things off.
