Finally got them on and gained apprx 7" of lift above my old height! Thats no good! I originally had 6" lift 52's on my Blazer with 2"BL. 8" total. I wanted the same lift height with 64,s and ended up with an extra 7". I got this number from measuring from the ground to the frame before and after 31" to 38".
The springs I put on are eazyride 3" lift 64's, 2" shackle flip, and 6" shackles. Totaling 11". Subtract the shackle angle 2"-3" and the body lift" and it should even out or be close to even, correct. Nope. Heres some pics if they help. Lemme know what you think....

( I hate bein a knuckle head!)

just use stock 64s that should drop you down a bit. stock 64s with 6" shackles should give you about 5" of lift. + your body lift thats 7". close to where you wanna be. weight will also help a bit.

problem would entail this, I bought these springs well over a year ago and am sure they cannot be returned. plus I dont wanna lose the money in shipping o do so. Weight i think would only end up setting my shackle angle better.

Just curious, where are the springs mounted for this set up? Front hanger in stock position or ...? I would think that where the springs sit on the frame arch will effect the ride height, just making mental notes for later. :D

Stock front hanger and location, Shackle flip moved back and L and R sides swapped

how about remove the front hangers and move them up 4" and redrill and bolt in and cut off the top side to not interfeer with the body area.

like these here. 4x4 front hangers cut down from 3 holes per side to 2 per side. can be used as home brew shackle flip with no real lift built in. you could also use these in the rear instead of the full on flip kit with lift. these will drop you 4-5 in the rear lift.

p.s. these are for sale in the sale section.

if you were closer i would swap you my stock new 64" for your lifted ones.

Right you are. I need to lose 6"-7" any suggestions? I have lie a 1" overload spring that I can take out. Or should I keep it as a sorta limiter.

Go to the local pick-n-pull and pull a set of stock 64's out of a truck. I pulled my Ford 57's out of a very clean '94 F150 and got them for $80. Sanded them and threw some paint on and away I went.
So bolt up the stock 64's (yank the overload if need-be) and sell your lift springs on here or Pirate and make your money back.

Be aware though you'll probably want to look into doing an anti-wrap bar asap. I still have the overload in my 57" pack and I have bad axle wrap even with my anemic bone stock california smogged 350 so with any kind of power it'll be even worse.

Moving the front hangers would require moving the rear therefore moving my axle 3-4" forward as apposed to the 4 or so" back thats more desired.
ill have to play this by ear since its hard to figure lift without any weight on the rear.

Anyone know if my lift calculations are adequate? 2" ord shackle flip, 6" shackles, 3" lift springs = xxx amount of total lift. 11"? or does the shackle flip alone aquire me extra lift beyond the 2" drop.

ah yes. you need to move the back hangers back and the fronts forward. thats how most people do 64's.... well thats how i did them.
i just bought a 84 blazer and i see the body mounts are in the same location as yours. now if we were to move the front hangers forward how would we go about bypassing them. they were in a different spot on my 73 or the were gone i don't remember.

Your 6" shackles aren't giving you 6" of lift. The stock shackles were probably 4" and so the new ones are providing 1/2 of the 2" of lift for a total of 1" lift coming from your shackles.

How am I then getting 15" of total lift from this set up? I did gain 7" from my previous setup which was relativly new. I know, if you guys could give some measurements from ground to bottom frame rail we can compare.

Is the only diffference between the two setups the spring? Seems like those are giving you more lift than expected?

I only know the 2" longer shackles aren't providing 6" of lift since they are only 2" longer. ;)

no the shackles arnt but the spring length is. 64s with 6" shackles will give you near 6" of lift. its not only the shackles its the spring length that provides lift. and the shackle flip also helps.

also those look more like 6" lift springs but you bought them so im sure you know. also how did you fit 64's without moving your front hangers forward??

I hope you don't take this the wrong way blazin' but honestly who cares about actual numbers when it comes to lift height? Make it sit where you want it to sit. Every vehicle is different and every spring sits a little different.

As I said before I think your best bet is to yank those lift springs and put in some stock height 64's, add some weight and see where everything lands. There is no special formula when it comes to putting shackle flips, different length shackles, longer springs, etc. on these trucks. :)

after readig these last posts I did some research on my springs and they are 6" springs! I ordered 3" but got these. oh well, I have had them for a while now so may as well use them.

Thanks for all your input, I thought there may be some sorta formula when figuring lift height, maybe we need some more input from everyone elses lifts to create one.

I moved the rear mount from the original 4 mounting holes- to bolting the front of the mount in the rear holes of the old mount and drilling the other two in the back.
