So I made some trade offs in getting a first gen blazer, great ppl mover but not so much for cargo. I've been day dreaming about making a 67-72 Full size PU trailer. But is seems like the consensus is that they are heavy & aluminium is the way to go. I'd live to have it match my truck as pictured in my avatar, IE lift it just a little w/ matching tires and paint. Would gusseted "speed holes" help reduce the weight yet maintain its strength? Or is that not worth the effort?

The trailer would not be used for daily use, but an occasional medium - long type pulls.

They are heavy in comparison to some cheapo small trailer, but really, for your purpose, just build one.

Doubt flanged holes would make a noticeable difference in weight.

Since when did we care about lightweight on our rigs anyways?:haha:

I'd build a light weight frame and such for your trailer and just skin it with the right outer panels for the look of a bed trailer. Much lighter, more room in it and the look you want:waytogo:

And 1000x more work :D

Agreed. But the hard part is cutting up a nice truck. I'd like to find one locally, as its hard to go and pickup something when you don't have a trailer to start with :D

Lets say I find a complete 67-72 truck in a junkyard, whats a ballpark price?
