67 Beaumont: The OG ck5 A-body

Kind of a crappy pic. But they sure are bright. Should be nice for the few night drives I do every now and than.

I relayed them using the high beam as the as the switch.

Yeah wanted something a lil extra of you know what I mean. Being I live 10 miles out of town it would be nice.

I can't remember the brand of these, they are a knock off of a rigid. About 1/2 the cost, my cousin put the same lights on his trike and they have seem
To held up.

Went over the car, figured I'd give her an oil change. Messed with the linkage a bit. Loaded up my basic road kit.

Ready for a small roadtrip to a local cruise night from my hometown Friday.

That is all :thumb:

Well put about 300 miles on over a couple days. Got about 19mpg on the highway cruised out between 70-80mph.

Talked to a hot rod buddy of mine at the car show, sounds like this style of A body is notorious for having the hood move around on the hinges.

As mine is doing this, beating the paint up on the hood. Planning on making some little rubber wedges to fit in there. I've currently been tucking rags in there.

Got a few pics and a YouTube vid a guy did of the car show ill toss up later.

A lot of the square body rigs had rubber wedges to keep the hood centered and to keep it from rubbing the sides of the fenders...they'd probably work for your Beaumont.

Trouble is due to the design/shape of hood and fenders there isnt much that will fit at the back.

It already has a couple bumpers about midway.

Already got some idears in my head that imma look into trying yet :D

Havent updated this in a while, ended up using some nice 1/4" pieces of thick foam that came in a package. Seems to work good fwiw.

Ran the car home on the weekend for the winter, had a little cruise we went on. 30 cars or so. Cruised up to a bar at a lake for some wobble pops and a car show.

Believe it's on a s10 frame, lowered, 350 in it.

Guy said he was gonna bag it this winter I believe.

Never really liked the split bumper cars. But lately I look at that and just see one bad ass car

That split bumper Z is automotive perfection IMO. I love those when they're well executed.
Yeah, just too bad it's a clone. No round turn signals above the bumper is the giveaway. I'm a big fan of the split bumpers, about the only car I would chose over the 1st gens.
