67 Beaumont: The OG ck5 A-body

Forgot to add, was going to get a seat cover. But because the 67 rear bench has horizontal stitching. 68 and up had vertical, my bench Is a 71. You can't interchange seat foams to run the 67 style cover on the 71. So I'll be having one made.

Hope that makes sense.

Put the weatherstripping on the doors and the window felts in.

Also found the best place for this:

No real pic worthy updates. Picked up clips for the windshield trim, than got them all on only to realize the back ones are different. So only got the front on, installed new truck lock/door lock rubbers, cut/glued insulation on the roof as well. Hoping that quietens it down a bit.

Next weekend will be poly/install door panels.

Still waiting for my seat foam, headliner bows to show up. Hoping this week.

Got the door panels in, had to strip the paint of the stainless strips the panels lock into. Some idiot only painted the back ones!! Also pumped the doors/quarters full of rust check/wd40-motor oil mix for some cheap insurance.

Chrome finish was toast on the arm rests, so I scuffed and painted em satin black for now. Might get new ones some day. Painted the crank knobs black as a couple were the factory blue still.

Cleaned the inside right out, filled the holes from the bucket seats.

Got the back window trim on, what a pita. Was a lot of swearing going on.

Forgot to add, I kind of like the plain Jane door panels. Not a lot going on with em, nice and simple and tough :waytogo:

they look great....I wish the C/K's were that simple!

Put a couple short days in on it, cleaned the engine bay up a bit. Coated the underside of the car/floor pan inside with gloss black tremclad. Looks a million times better, only think is I'm covered in black paint head to toe :doah::haha:

Got my phone back finally, didn't grab any pics though

Well picked up the headliner bows and such the other day. Been busy doing renos on the house. Hoping next weekend to get some time on this heap :haha:

Also picked some conversion headlights up that run a 9007 halogen bulb.

Got the new headlights in, had a couple issues. Had to enlarge all the holes in the core support 1/8" for the bulb retainers to clear. As well as make a new mounting notch on the high beam only light bucket. Never mind the other sharpy marks, to many neers made me mark them in the wrong spots :doah::haha:

Appears the one bulb/plug may interfere with the battery, guess ill have to address that next.

I quite like the difference with the new lights on, seems to modernize it quite a bit:thumb:

Got the headliner in, its to completely done yet, but its close. Took a bit to figure out the headliner bow configuration and to get everything to fit right. The holes were all oblonged for the rods, so had to take a bfh/punch to the mounting holes. That tightened everything right up. Stretched the front/back of the liner/installed front window trim/stretched the sides today. Used some 3m trim adhesive, seems to work pretty good.

Still have some wrinkles in it from it being folded in its original packaging, but it looks pretty good to me :thumb:

with the front/back stretched:

Still have to stretch around where the sail panels go and install them as well. Which that should take care of some wrinkles it still has.

Took a day off last week, was slow at work. Went to work on the car and it was outside....so out came the K20 and we towed it home for the time being. It was only outside for a week, guy didnt have help to push it in the shop to re arrange stuff. Anywho got it pushed in the garage for a couple days.

Got a bunch of wiring done, LED license plate light/wired in the reverse lights

Headliner is pretty well finished, just have to fix a couple torn seams. Didnt turn out to bad, re stretched a couple spots. Got the mirror/visors tossed back on.

Got the rubber pre cut floor insualtion layed in, front half of the carpet cut/shifter/boot put in. Set the back half in for now, ill button it up once the seats are in. Got the carpet weighted down right now to help settle it out.
